Join us for a lunch discussion of WBGU-PBS' local documentary, "These Old Houses: Historic Homes of Northwest Ohio," at the Otterbein Portage Valley Campus Center Auditorium, in Pemberville, on Tuesday, August 19th.

This program airs on Thursday, August 7th at 8:30 p.m. on WBGU-PBS and will be shown at the library on Tuesday, August 19th at 12:30 p.m., prior to the discussion at 2:00 p.m.

Historic Homes of rich and prominent people hold a certain fascination. They propel us back to a bygone era when wealthy families had maids and butlers. When ladies gathered in the front parlor and men retired after dinner to the billiard room for a smoke. Now, WBGU-PBS takes you back to that time with a new program that tours local historic homes.

This entertaining and enlightening film features two friends, who are recent college graduates. Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis, with the help of friendly neighbors, genetically modified seeds, nitrogen fertilizers and powerful herbicides, plant and grow a bumper crop of America's most-productive, most-subsidized grain on one acre of Iowa soil.
